Possibilities

I would like to create a assault rifle in preparation for the coming zombie apocalypse. it would be an assault riffle with a 300 round magazine collapsable stock fully automatic and have a chainsaw attachment added to the front of it. Complete with flashlight and laser sight.

A hover-board would be another invention I would like to create. Ever since I watched Back to the Future I've always wanted to have one and I feel like it would be a great invention in terms of travel.

Everyone wants a time machine to go erase certain things in there past so of course it would be a convenient machine with untold possibilities and outcomes.

The Way Photography Extends Our Eye

Hoax Mars Site

This article fits into the Ways of Seeing Article by manipulating existing images to change the meaning behind the original image. By placing beads on Mars the author is obviously attempting to trick a certain crowd. This is easily done through photoshop everyday but this particular author was able to use it to a level that made it a little more believable than others.

Chris Jordan

Chris Jordan uses images to form other images. In this picture he uses images of atomic explosions to create the image of another the sinking of the Titanic. Both images capture major disasters, the sinking of the Titanic caused the death of many lives as well as an atomic explosion which is capable of leveling entire cities. I found it to be an ironic use of images to create a picture.

Ways of Seeing

The Mona Lisa is one of the most reproduced images of all time as well as one of the most recognizable images in the history of art. Therefore taking a priceless piece of art and placing it on a shirt is a crazy way of seeing art.

Banksy

Banksy did a series in Israel on the wall in the West Bank that provided a powerful use of appropriation. This image along with many others represent images of soldiers as well as children depicted in interesting scenes. Some images of children trying to escape or imagining life elsewhere can be found throughout the province as well as images like this one of a young girl patting down a soldier in an area shrouded in constant violence and hostility.

J.S.G. Boggs

Boggs uses an obvious use of appropriation through the duplication of currency around the world. By creating his currency artworks several questions arise. Is this counterfeiting money, where does the value of the artwork come from, among others. To me I believe that the value of the artwork comes from the collection of all three parts of the piece. Without all the pieces the show is never complete and the value of the piece isn't absolute. That along with the procedure that must be undertaken to gain all the pieces adds value in itself.

A Brief History of John Baldessari

This is one of John Baldessari's artworks. I think I find it interesting because why would he make a billboard of an ear. I do think it's impressive in scale but can't find a rhyme or reason why. The curiosity is why I think I find it so interesting.

Cassandra C. Jones

Iris, 2009,
I have a fascination with eyes. I draw them all the time and there is so much that can be said with the depiction of eyes and looks and this piece is just another example of that.
Lightning Image 1, 2009

Lightning Image 2, 2009
I like both of these images in the way she creates something that doesn't exist by combining landscapes that don't exist together. I feel like there is something beautiful and magical that accompanies lightning and these images to me play off of that.

Appropriation

This is my example of appropriation art. I used Mimicry of Shepard Fairey's Barack Obama "Hope" Campaign Poster. Because of this use of pre-existing artwork with little change I was able to fall into the classification of appropriation.

Example of Digital Imaging

I like the way the face and hand flows into the light spectrum in the background. The soft transition in the cheek and fingers and at the hairline give a nice touch in the composition and flow of both the image and the background.
